🌊 Niagara Falls: From Dungeon Escape to Nature’s Most Powerful

Then it was time to visit the famous Niagara Falls—the reason for staying in Toronto in the first place.

And if there was one silver lining to the dungeon situation, it was that Mamabear changed the plan from a day trip to a two-night escape. A few nights in a real bed meant proper sleep for both the pandas and Mamabear. And it turned out to be a great decision —otherwise, the Niagara Falls adventure might have been a complete disappointment.

The day we arrived was miserable: warm temperatures, pouring rain and mud air making sightseeing rather challenging. 🌧️

While the falls were still impressive, the saying “there is no bad weather, only bad clothing” clearly had never met a strongly opinionated young panda. 😂 who made sure every tourist knew exactly what he thought of the weather, making a proper exploration of the falls impossible.

The next day was a completely different story. ☀️ It started with beautiful sunshine, a delicious breakfast of those famous five-layer Canadian pancakes, and a lovely walk towards the falls.

And yes, the Little Pandas wanted to do ALL of it. Not because it was on some tourist checklist, but because they were genuinely excited: see all three waterfalls, walk behind the curtain of water, take a boat right into the falls, and go all the way up the tower. 🌊🐼

What a day!

Surely the pandas were done by then?

Absolutely not. 😂

Somehow, they still had energy left into the evening and managed to convince Mamabear that there was enough fuel for fireworks late into the night, too—this time in a beautiful setting overlooking the falls. 🎆✨

And to think, none of this would have happened, if not for the dungeon. Sometimes the best travel decisions come from the most miserable beginnings! 🐼❤️

🏙️ Exploring Toronto: Boats, Baseball & City   Life ⚾

Back from Niagara Falls, it was time to explore actual Toronto. The Little Pandas made their way downtown, along the riverwalk, with two things high on their wishlist: the Science Centre and the Harbour.

Truth be told, even on a beautiful sunny day, Toronto was somehow not quite as captivating as other places.

Still, there were highlights!

For Nicobear, the harbour became a perfect place to inspect every boat as a potential property. 🚤

For Finnibear, the real highlight was finding a harbour restaurant where he could finally watch the Blue Jays play on a big screen. ⚾

His new baseball passion, shared among his Canadian friends is clearly becoming serious business.

🏝️ Toronto’s Hidden Gems: A Day on the Island 

Since the Little Pandas had struggled to discover Toronto’s charm on their own— and homeschooling was proving rather difficult in the dungeon—

joining the kindest-spirited locals they had met for a boat ride to the Toronto Islands was a no-brainer.

And what a great decision it turned out to be!

Without this encounter, some of Toronto’s little hidden gems would probably have gone unnoticed—and that would have been a real shame.

What followed was a beautiful day on the Toronto Islands, filled with

• beach adventures
• visit to what has by now become an important stop on every panda trip—the fire station 🚒—

and, most importantly,

• getting to know one very special dog who completely stole the pandas’ hearts. He patiently endured their sometimes rather overwhelming enthusiasm, and somewhere along the way, a very special bond began to grow. 🐶❤️🐼

The day ended with an extended evening at a wonderfully worry-free outdoor bar, which turned out to be pretty much panda paradise: a playground, Blue Jays game on the big screen, pool table, music and great company. ⚾🎱🎶

Eventually, even the pandas had to call it a day and catch the last ferry home. 🌙⛴️

🐶 Toronto’s Final Day: From Dog Date to First Business! 

The final day in Toronto was approaching.

Since the city didn’t seem to have many new surprises left for the pandas, an invitation to spend one last day in the beautiful neighborhood which their favourite dog calls home, seemed much more appealing than a visit to the Aquarium.

And it definitely paid off—literally. 😂

Finnibear had been working on a business plan for weeks,realising that his pocket money was simply not enough to fund all his travel wishes.

So, with his usual unbreakable persistence, he acquired a business partner in what would be the next big thing: the best Blue Jays smoothie in town. 🥤

Like every good start-up, sales began slowly. But once the word was out thanks to some help from Nicobear and the impressive marketing skills of his business partner, it became a full success!

By the end of the day, the older Panda had earned enough to buy not one, but two Blue Jays baseball hats. ⚾🧢🧢

Time for a well-deserved celebration dinner—before the final goodbye.

While academic homeschooling may have been a complete no-go these past few days,

• learning the value of work, money and entrepreneurship
• covering how rewarding it feels to earn something yourself,

and most importantly,

• building special bonds along the way—

certainly this is the best life lesson learnt after all. ❤️✨
